Yes, I know, I hear you, there can be a lot of curveballs coming your way, there can be a lot of “interference on your frequency”, but let’s have a look at how we can make the best of it.

Ultimately, what everyone wants, is to feel good. We want to feel good about ourselves, we want to feel comfortable in our life, we want to live a life without having to deal with too much turbulence all the time.

How can we achieve that when all we seem to encounter is, roadblocks here, hick-ups there.

Let’s start small, let’s start with very simple things.

First of all, DECIDE you want to feel good today, DECIDE you want to have a nice day today. This may seem trivial but it’s the first step to feeling good. Don’t look too far into the future. Live now, today, as this is the only time you can live. All you can do, is right here, right now.

When you wake up, take a DEEP BREATH and SAY to yourself, This is going to be a fine day’. SMILE when you say this. BELIEVE it.

Get out of bed and look forward to having a shower, BE present, ENJOY the fresh-smelling soap, the hot water and enjoy this very moment before the hustle and bustle of the day starts. This way you are already on the vibrational frequency of feeling good*.

Take your time to have some breakfast, some coffee, some tea, whatever you like to have before you go to work.

KEEP repeating to yourself: “This is going to be a fine day”, keep that smile on your lips and look around you with a positive mindset. Keep your mental muscle** perception very active today. Whenever there is something that would set you off into a negative, down spiral, stop yourself and ask:

What else is possible here?’

‘How can I look differently at this?’

‘Is, how I perceive this situation, absolutely true?’

USE your 2nd mental muscle**, imagination, to create other possible versions of what is happening here. This is crucial if you want to have a fine day. Whatever comes your way, stop and look at it from different angles and choose a version that makes you feel good. Is this bending the truth? What is the absolute truth? Does it even exist? Everyone has his/her version of the truth. So, no, choosing a way to look at things, that makes you feel good is not being naïve, it’s called self-care, self-love, and it’s beneficial for the people around you too as you don’t throw a fit whenever you think something is done to harm you. Choosing to feel good, is not being in denial, it’s choosing to keep the faith that, even if there is a setback in your life, this too shall pass. It’s choosing to live in the moment, to be present here and now, and not to get lost in all the ‘what if’s’, in all the ‘worst-case scenarios’, in all the doom-and gloom.

As dr. Wayne Dyer said:

“When you change, the way you look at things,

the things you look at, change.”

Go through your day, believing the world is a beautiful place.

Focus on all the beauty, on all that puts a smile on your face.

Connect with people that make you feel appreciated.

Go into nature and feel the connection.

Breathe, close your eyes and relax for a moment.

Find a moment to put your hands on your heart and (re-)connect with your Inner Self, your True Self.

These are all very simple things but don’t underestimate them. They lead you towards having a simple, beautiful life. Keep doing all of these things until they have become your way of being, your way of looking at the world and the people around you.

The more you practice, the easier it becomes.

Once you have the habit of always looking for the good in people, in situations, all will seem so much easier, so much simpler, and feeling good will have become a natural thing.

When you read my blogs, you’ll see that there are a number of things that will enable this way of living, such as meditating, writing in a gratitude journal, …. Also living a healthy lifestyle will enhance this ‘feeling good’ as we all know that when we’re rested, when we’re exercising, when we eat and drink healthy stuff, … feeling good comes as a natural result of all this.

But as I said in the title, life can be so simple, if only we want it to be. That is why I suggest, you start with simple, but very effective changes to avoid getting even more overwhelmed than you probably already are right now.

My invitation to you all is:

Decide you want to feel good.

Repeat that intention as your mantra: ‘Life is good, I feel good’

Start simple, don’t overdo it. No subscribing to all kinds of classes that, indeed could help you feel good, but that maybe will put even more pressure on you.

No huge, life-transforming actions (yet).

Just decide you want to feel good, breathe, be present. Train your mind to look at things from different angles and to choose the one that makes you feel peaceful and relaxed.

When you feel your mind is already changing its default modus into seeing things from a positive point of view, then you can decide whether you want to add more stuff in order to have an even more joyful, loving and peaceful life. But don’t overdo it. Start small. Give your mind time to change. And remember, every progress is progress! Enjoy every little victory! Whenever you stumble, whenever you had a knee-jerk reaction, just acknowledge that this is not what you want anymore, forgive yourself and move on. The more you practice, the easier it’ll get. Good luck!!
