I find this quote from dr. Wayne Dyer a very powerful one! And yet, most people, me included, are used to hearing just the opposite! How many times have you said, or heard someone saying, ‘seeing is believing’.
And now dr. Wayne Dyer says the opposite:
“Believe it and you’ll see it!”
Have you ever considered turning the old, familiar phrase around? And actually, believe something, before it has manifested* yet?
I invite you all to start doing this from now on!
Think for a moment about something you would like to see happening. Something you still don’t quite trust it will be happening.
In the version of ‘seeing is believing’: you’ll be waiting for signs it will come your way. But just waiting for it to happen, will not do a lot in manifesting it, as your mind is still on the non-believing vibration. That vibrational frequency is still the frequency of lack, of not having it yet, of not yet believing it will ever come your way. That is a lower frequency** than the frequency of believing, the frequency of solutions, of already feeling grateful for the thing that you would like to see happening.
In the version of ‘Believe it and you’ll see it’, you already believe it is in your life. You already live as if it has manifested yet. You talk about it as if it is already here, you believe in it, you are already grateful for it. Because you’re on this higher vibrational frequency, you’ll meet the right people, you’ll get the necessary information, you’ll have everything falling into place. Whatever it is you want to see happening, actually has now the opportunity to enter your life. That is the beauty of it: as you act as if it’s there, your subconscious mind already believes it is. That facilitates the process of it happening.
As I’ve written a lot of articles*** about how the mind works, you probably already know how your mind works. But let me refresh your memory for a second.
We have a conscious and a subconscious mind. Only 7% of all our actions are driven by what our conscious mind tells us to do. The conscious mind gets its info through our senses: hearing, seeing, touching, tasting and smelling. As the word says, we need to be very aware, very conscious when we are acting driven by the conscious mind. For instance, when we are driving our car, we do it almost automatically, our body knows what to do and we can talk, listen to the radio, … while driving. When suddenly there is a dangerous situation, all of our attention is on driving and navigating through this dangerous situation. You’ll stop having the conversation, you won’t hear the radio anymore until the situation has cleared and you can continue driving as usual. Being in this dangerous situation requires our conscious mind taking over, that is the 7% of our actions.
All 93% of our actions are driven by our subconscious mind. All we’ve learned, all we’ve heard, all we’ve experienced, all we’ve seen, has been stored in our ‘archives’, also known as our ego. And whenever we are in a situation, our subconscious mind scans the archives and gets the response we’ve used in previous, similar situations. Luckily, we have that archive or we’d be learning how to drive every single time we step into our car, or on our bike. We have that ego to protect us from harm, as you won’t get into dangerous situations you’ve been in before, and it also helps us act in most of the situations by remembering previous successful responses.
But sometimes it’s time to change the files in our archives. Some may be outdated, some may have proven not to have the desired response in it, and that’s when we’ll use our conscious mind to change the content of certain files in our subconscious mind.
That is where you have the power to change things, that’s where you have the power to believe, that’s where you have the power to tell your subconscious mind it’s already happening. Believing it, consciously, will put a file in your archives that is has already manifested. So, whenever your subconscious mind needs a reaction to this wishful situation, it will find a file with the desired reaction to this situation.
Let’s look at an example: you would like to lose weight. Your old file said: no way you’ll succeed. Being overweight runs in the family, we all have the genes for being overweight. Result: you fail at every attempt to lose weight permanently. You do not believe in it and you will not get a lasting result as you never believed it would last.
When on the other hand, you are convinced that you’ll be able to lose weight and keep it up, you believe in it, you see it as already happening. You tell your mind that it is the new you. You keep seeing yourself as the person you want to be. The longer you keep that up, the easier it will be to make the right choices. And you end up having the desired weight. You believed in it and now you see it happening.
Another example is: you want that promotion you’ve been longing for for quite some time now. In the ‘seeing is believing’ mode, you’ll never expect it to happen. You look for all the evidence why it will never be you: that colleague is the boss’s favorite (in your mind), I don’t have the right diploma so I’ll never get chosen, I am too old, I am …., I am not ….
In the ‘Believe it and you’ll see it’ modus, you already see yourself doing that job, you follow the necessary courses, you make sure your experience counts for more than your diploma, you talk self-confidently to your boss, you know you are as worthy of that job as any other colleague, you gather enough knowledge and experience to make it happen.
Believing in it makes you act in a way you clear the path for it to enter your life.
Whenever doubt creeps up in your mind, your belief in it manifesting itself, will make sure you take the right steps, will make you continue and never give up.
My invitation to you all is:
Visualize what you would like to see happening.
Make it very real.
Believe in it.
‘See’ it in your mind day after day.
Do all that will enable it to manifest.
Be grateful for it.
Enjoy it becoming real!
