We always think that what we see, is, what is really there, what is really happening.

But is that so?

In fact, we always see what we believe to be true, we always see our version, the colored version of “reality”.

We subconsciously choose the ‘color’ in which we see the world.

If we are happy, things seem less heavy, less troublesome, things seem fine.

If we are in foul mood, everything irritates us, everything seems to trouble us.

If we are trustworthy, we will more likely be trusting of others,

If we are paranoid, we will see conspiracy in every corner,

If we are dishonest, we will believe others to be so too.

So, we do actually see the things as we are.

The positive side of this is that we can change the reality, by changing how we think, by changing how we act, by changing how we are living our lives! This is very powerful!!

Just think of it:

We can make reality better by consciously thinking in a more positive, happy way!

Waw! Isn’t that something?

It seems quite simple but it is not easy to do. As I wrote in many* of my previous articles, you can train your mind, you can train your mental muscles.

First of all, decide that you want to live in a more beautiful world.

Make notes of what it is, that you experience as negative in your world today, and look at them from another point of view.

Take 100% responsibility for how you feel.

Create daily rituals to remind you that, how you feel, how you see the world around you, is something that is entirely up to you.

It’s you, who decides which thoughts you keep going around and around in your head.

It’s you, who chooses how to look at people and at situations.

That doesn’t mean other people are not responsible for their actions, no, it just means that you are responsible for how you react to them.

It’s you, who decides how much value you give to other people’s opinions, acts, words.

It’s you, who gets to decide how you interpret, what other people do, what other people say. It’s as I wrote in the introduction: if you are in a good mood, you are more likely to ‘hear’ other people’s words in a positive, constructive way. And if you already are in a bad mood, you’ll be ‘sure’ that whatever they said, was meant as an insult or as criticism.

Not only will we be able to see things more positively, which will make us feel more relaxed, and happy in life, another benefit of being conscious about what ‘reality’ really means, is that we can also be more understanding towards others, and therefor make their lives more pleasant too! And that is a win for everyone.

I don’t think anyone can actually know how another person sees, experiences a certain situation, as we are not living in their heads.

We all see the world through our own eyes, with our own history, with our own thoughts.

So do not assume you know what the other one is feeling, is going through. Ask them and really listen. You’ll often be very surprised to hear what they are actually feeling and thinking.

If we could all be a little bit more empathetic, everyone would start acting more gently, and would become more considered about the other one’s feelings.

And that can only result in more happiness, more peace, and more kindness for all.

And isn’t that what we are all seeking here during our journey here on Earth?

Living a kind, joyful, happy life?

Reflect upon these thoughts for a moment, know that you have a huge responsibility towards yourself and other people.

Make the world a better place for everyone! You will be the first to benefit from it.

Why wait?

I wish you all a very warm, loving, happy, joyful life!!!!
