{"id":7165,"date":"2026-01-23T09:28:39","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T08:28:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifecoachwomen.be\/january-month-of-stillness\/"},"modified":"2026-01-23T09:28:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-23T08:28:39","slug":"january-month-of-stillness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifecoachwomen.be\/fr\/january-month-of-stillness\/","title":{"rendered":"January, Month of Stillness\u2026."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4637 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/lifecoachwomen.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/candles-gfd6530bf9_1920-768x512-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"446\" height=\"297\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">January is a month that is hard on everyone.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The holidays are over, it\u2019s still dark outside <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">and yet, everyone expects us to be bubbly, full of good intentions, working hard on new goals we need to reach.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But what if we got it all wrong?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #666699;\">What if we are not supposed to jump into new adventures just yet?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #666699;\">What if January is not the month to make new plans, to start doing new things?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lots of people set intentions, but leave them at the doorstep after a couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>How come?<\/p>\n<p>Where do we go wrong?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Why do we fail?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">We are part of nature, but do we look at what nature is doing this time of year?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Do we observe, and learn?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">No,<\/span><\/strong> we think we are above the laws of nature, and <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">we keep pushing through.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Is it any wonder we feel blue?<\/p>\n<p>Is it abnormal that we feel tired and want to go to bed early?<\/p>\n<p>No!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Nature is still.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Nature rests.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Nature prepares in silence for the new spring.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">All is quiet and hibernating.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #666699;\">What if we all try to be gentle to ourselves and ease* through January instead of pushing through?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I understand that most of us can\u2019t just sleep through it and wake up in Springtime. \uf04a<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #666699;\">But what if we tried to do a little less, sleep a little more.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you have been reading my articles, you know I am all about simplifying.<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s revue our lives for a moment.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Look at what is too much right now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s so easy to let your life get full again. Me too, I had a very full, stressful year and now I consciously want to <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">simplify<\/span><\/strong> my life again:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less stuff<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less to do\u2019s<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less appointments<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less hassle<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less pressure<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Less complicating life.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am consciously <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">switching to<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More quiet time<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More meditations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More being in nature<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More sleep<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More relaxing time<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More drinking water<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More health<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">More exercise.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What if all of our New Year\u2019s resolutions could be, no resolutions at all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Just easing through wintertime.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Gently preparing for springtime.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I highly recommend:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Have a gentle evening ritual*<\/span><\/strong>*l so that you can have a good night sleep.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Wake up softly<\/span><\/strong> and start your day in a relaxing way.***<\/p>\n<p>Away from mails, news, phone messages\u2026 just breathe, awaken, take your time before you jump into your day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"> Clear your agenda<\/span><\/strong> of all the too much.<\/p>\n<p>Even too much fun activities are too much. Build in peace and quiet. Build in time to just breathe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\">Take care of your body<\/span><\/strong>****:<\/p>\n<p>eat more healthily, drink more water, exercise more, \u2026<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"> Make space in your head<\/span><\/strong>*****.<\/p>\n<p>Let go of old battles, worry less, make time to do nothing at all. If you know that more than 90% of what we worried about, never actually happens, then I think we can safely start worrying less. And even if stressful things happen, worrying about them never changed a thing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #666699;\">I\u2019ll keep it short this week.<\/span> Nothing new, just some light reading, no heavy thinking required, just a gentle reminder.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>Just a permission slip* to ease through January.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank you all for reading me, and for supporting me on Medium!
