{"id":5481,"date":"2022-02-25T12:31:46","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T11:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lcw.comingsoon.site\/why-worry-3\/"},"modified":"2022-03-09T12:32:30","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T11:32:30","slug":"why-worry-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifecoachwomen.be\/en\/why-worry-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Worry?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>We spend most of our lives worrying about things that will never happen anyway\u2026 so why worry so much?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3939 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/lifecoachwomen.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/smiling-kid-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"608\" height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I once read a funny, yet also inspiring, verse and it went like this:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u201cWhy worry?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">There are only 2 things to worry about: whether you are well or whether you are sick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you are well, then there is nothing to worry about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you are sick, then there are only 2 things to worry about: whether you\u2019ll get well or whether you\u2019ll die.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you get well, then there is nothing to worry about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you die, there are only 2 things to worry about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Whether you\u2019ll go to heaven, or whether you\u2019ll go to hell.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you go to heaven, then there is nothing to worry about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">When you go to hell, you\u2019ll be so busy shaking hands with old friends, you won\u2019t have time to worry\u2026\u2026:-)\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is funny and I don\u2019t believe in heaven and hell, so that is not what I want to write about but it sheds a beautiful light on the unnecessary amount of worrying we all do. We all spend soooooo much time worrying!!! And <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>90% (and maybe even more) of all the worst-case scenario\u2019s we\u2019ve envisioned, NEVER even happened!!!!!! And yet we continue to worry.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The most absurd worrying is worrying over things from <strong>the past<\/strong><\/span>. Just think for a moment: what good can possibly come from replaying over and over again what already happened??? If you think you\u2019ve made a mistake, or if you think you\u2019ve hurt someone, or forgot something. Stop replaying it but fix what needs to be fixed. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Do what you need to do to make up for what you regret. And the LET IT GO!<\/span><\/strong> If it\u2019s something that can\u2019t be fixed, forgive who needs to be forgiven and move on.\u00a0 It\u2019s how you act now that will help people and whining over the past is not helping anyone. We\u2019ve all made mistakes: little ones and big ones. All we can do now, is learn from our mistakes, and make sure we don\u2019t make them again. Forgive yourself and others and focus on the NOW.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">And then there is <strong>the \u2018big\u2019 future<\/strong>.<\/span> That\u2019s something you can really knock yourself out with! Years and years, decades even, are there for you, your ego (as it is your Protective Self who wants to be in control all the time) begging you to envision your whole life, inviting you to make the perfect plan, making you think you know how to control life\u2026. and then something happens that makes the whole card house, your perfect plan, crumble. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">All of your planning, worrying, trying to control\u2026 goes down the drain.<\/span><\/strong> You\u2019ve spent hours, days, weeks, \u2026 worrying about whether you would be able to handle it, whether you would be doing things right, neglecting to enjoy the moment, letting all those beautiful \u2018present time moments\u2019 slip by\u2026. and all for nothing. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">Once you realize you cannot predict\/control the future, you\u2019ll finally know it\u2019s no use worrying about it.<\/span><\/strong> That\u2019s when you start living from your Higher Self instead of being led by your ego\u2019s worries.<\/p>\n<p>Of course,<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> there is also the <strong>near future<\/strong>:<\/span> meetings that you need to attend, people you have to meet, things that need to get done, \u2026 I get it, you can feel anxious, worried about the outcome of it. But instead of worrying, just look at what is coming and ask yourself: how can I prepare myself?\u00a0 What can I do <em>now <\/em>to make the future event easier, smoother, more likely to succeed? List the things you can do, and do them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>\u201cAction is worry\u2019s worst enemy\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve done what you needed to do, then say to yourself: I am as ready as can be. Now I let go of the result. I trust that all will be okay, that everything will work out just fine.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Let go of the notion that there is only one, possible result in life<\/span>.<\/strong> Sometimes a different result turns out to be even better for you than the one you were striving for. When you know the direction-you-want-to-go in life, the person you want to be in life, then live your life in a way that <em>leads you<\/em> in that direction. The actual things you do, are of less importance, as long as you live according to your values and move in the direction you envision for yourself. You can plan and work towards a certain outcome in life, but don\u2019t cling too hard to that one specific result. Don\u2019t worry when things divert you a bit from what you were aiming for. Just work in the direction that feels good, do your best, learn the skills you need to master to do what you love but stop worrying so much.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">There is no one-and-only result that will determine whether you will be happy or not. Many things can bring happiness.<\/span><\/strong> And worrying less is a big contribution to your happiness.<\/p>\n<p>I know it\u2019s easy to say: \u201cLive in the now\u201d but I invite you all to try it! You\u2019ll feel so much more comfortable, relaxed, at ease.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Be conscious of how you are feeling right now <\/strong><\/span>and as dr. Wayne Dyer says*: whenever you feel &#8216;off&#8217;, don, unhappy, &#8230;say these five words:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\">\u201cI Want To Feel Good.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Saying these words, reminds you of the fact that <em>you<\/em> are in control of how you feel. By directing your thoughts, away from negativity, drama, failure, worry, \u2026. you decide you want to feel good and you WILL start feeling good!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>When saying these words: \u201cI want to feel good\u2019, you take action, you take control of your thoughts and feelings and you <em>decide<\/em> to live here and now, not yesterday, not tomorrow.<\/strong><\/span> You can take action where action is needed to change the situation that makes you uncomfortable. If there is nothing you can do about the situation, you let it go because you are determined to not let a situation you have no control over, get you down and you repeat: <em>I want to feel good<\/em>. Fretting about something that you can do nothing about, gets you nowhere, so the only option, if you want to feel good, is to stop thinking about it. Redirect your thoughts towards things you <em>can<\/em> do and stop mulling over the things you can\u2019t do anything about.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Now is the only moment you can feel happy<\/strong><\/span>, because now is the only moment you are living.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>The past is a memory,<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>the future a mystery,<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>the present is a gift.**<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">All you have to do to feel good right now, is saying: \u2018<strong>I Want to Feel Good<\/strong>\u2019 and do everything in your power to actually start feeling good. You need:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">t<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">o stop worrying about past and future, <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">to stop thinking about things you have no control over, <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">to stop assuming, <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">to stop the \u2018what if\u2019s\u2019, \u2026and just be, here and now. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Look at what is good, what is going well and start from there: you are alive, you have a roof over your head, you have food, \u2026 there are a million things in your life you can be grateful for. Look for them and you\u2019ll find them. Write them in a gratitude journal and you\u2019ll be surprised by the amount of good stuff that is happening in your life.<\/p>\n<p>As I\u2019ve said in previous articles: the mind is something <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>you can train<\/strong><\/span>. The more you practice positive thinking, the more you will be able to stop your habit of worrying. You can <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">learn to make a clear distinction<\/span> <\/strong>between: <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>what you need to let go of<\/strong> <\/span>and <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>what you can actually do something about<\/strong><\/span>. The more you practice, the easier it will become. Your default modus will become: <em>can I do something about it?<\/em> <em>Yes?<\/em> Okay, I\u2019ll do what I can. <em>No?<\/em> Okay, I let it go right now. No use going over and over it. I do like the expression:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #33cccc;\"><strong>Let it go, let it God.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Do what you can and then let go of everything else. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Do your best and trust that all will be okay.<\/strong><\/span> The Universe works with us, it helps us achieve what we want. Only, we need to be very clear about what we DO want because the Universe does not judge, it just hears what we are saying. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Repeating over and over again what we do NOT want to happen, aka worrying and creating worst-case scenarios, will tell the Universe that you want <em>more of this<\/em><\/strong><\/span> because that is what the Universe is hearing. Be very careful about how you speak to yourself, and out loud. Stop beating yourself up, stop talking down on yourself, stop repeating your fears. <em>For example<\/em>: Saying over and over again that you will <em>never<\/em> have that dream job, that they will <em>never <\/em>pick you, that you are <em>not <\/em>good enough, \u2026 that is what the Universe is hearing: they will NOT pick you and that is what you\u2019ll get more of. <em>Another example<\/em>: I am too fat, I\u2019ll never fit into that dress, I will never lose enough weight, \u2026 again the Universe will bring you more to help you NOT losing enough weight. So instead of worrying, and believing you\u2019ll never succeed: say: I want to feel good, I am going to lose weight, here is the plan I am going to follow. You already see yourself weighing less, feeling happier, being healthier. You BELIEVE you will succeed and you already enjoy feeling lighter. That feeling will keep you on track and <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>hearing what you want, the Universe will help you to keep going in the right direction to achieve your goal.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Speak in positive ambitions, let the Universe know what it is you DO want. Then make your plan to achieve it. Keep working towards your goal and stop worrying. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Believe you can<\/strong><\/span> realize your dream. Know where you are headed. Believe in it, be happy with every inch of progress and let go of the \u2018one possible end result\u2019. Just keep moving forward. Enjoy the moment, live in the now, don\u2019t think too far ahead and you\u2019ll be fine. You got this. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Stop worrying!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I wish you all a very joyful, worry-less journey!
